My Tuppence
Yep - I got tired of smelly Beauty Secrets which meant I decided to once and for all tryout elf cosmetics infamous lip scrub. Elf has around 4 scents of scrub from normal (which smells really nice), cherry (ok), mint (meh) and rose. I did want to buy the original but it's always out of stock so I opted for the next best thing in my mind - Rose.
Rose has a true rose scent that would be very pretty if the slightly rancid greasy oily smell of the product wasn't around. I don't think it starts out smelling greasy but, the longer you have it the more I think exposure to air makes it smell a little bit funky-freaky
On the skin/lips, the scrub isn't that abrasive and it takes a bit of warming up for the sugary particles to get to work. It wipes off easily and does help to soften lips plus, it tastes pretty decent (just saying).
Ultimately, it works but it's not a miracle worker. I found that whilst it did smooth my lips it didn't slough off any lip flakes from dryness. Thus, I'd say this product is good to use regularly, to upkeep your lips before your bad lip habits catch up on you. Yes, it can soften the problem and make your lips comfortable but, a homemade lip scrub or a wet flannel could do the same trick. Just remember when all else fails - lip balm will always be your friend.
The end result with a lip balm - Lanolips LemonAid
Bonus tip - try to be gentle with it as it's prone to breaking and getting smooshed.
