During the ABBW & IMATS weekend in Sydney back in September (which I thoroughly enjoyed if I hadn't mentioned already! ;-) ) I stopped by David Jones to visit the
Becca Cosmetics counter (seeing as they weren't in IMATS and I'm a huge Becca fan). I bought the
Becca Deluxe Travel Toiletry Bag, which I just absolutely
luurve. It's sooo huge and extremely practical given the compartments it has to accommodate all my beauty travel needs.

This is exactly what I needed for my recent overseas trip. The design and aesthetics is simple and sleek - very typical of the brand's line. The studs and leather detail add a great touch of style, and the dark cocoa brown colour - although their signature colour, is a practical choice given the utility of the bag. It won't look dirty, and if it does, it's fairly easy to wipe off with a damp cloth because of the material.

Apart from its good looks - the bag has the exact compartments I was after.
The bag comprises of 3 large zippered compartments. The first compartment has a number of little pockets to hold various things. One side has 2 strong mesh pockets with zip closures to hold smaller items, while the other side has 3 clear open-top pockets - I put things like my headache tablets and various skin care samples in there. Of course, if you're desperate for more space, you can always put stuff in between as well! ;-)
The middle compartment is lined all over with a water-resistant plastic to store my liquids and gels such as shampoo, toothpaste and skin care. It has 3 large elastics to secure your larger bottles in place. This is large enough to hold a lot of other items, too. It's an open space.
The third compartment has room to house lots of makeup brushes of all shapes and sizes (there are also elastic band holders as well to secure items such as eye/lip pencils, mascaras and lip glosses - but I just used them to hold more brushes! :) ). This compartment also has 2 large clear PVC pockets with snap button closures to hold items such as cosmetics and it's easy to see the contents and find what you need! The side with the built-in brush holders also has a zip pocket, which is not see-through, but I put things like my tweezer, nail cutter, lip/eye pencil sharpeners and other makeup palettes in there.
Approximate sizing: 20" long x 13.75" wide when open, and 9.75" tall x 13.75" wide x 5.5" deep when zippered shut. (Note, since the bag is a 'soft' case rather than stiff and extremely 'structured', there will be some give and therefore, a little more flexibility in terms of the space you can use).
Bottom line: I absolutely LOVE this bag. You can throw everything in there, but the kitchen sink, and of course, still stay organised! It's the best travel toiletry bag I've come across and probably the only one I'll ever need and use. If you travel a lot, this will be money well spent!
