New: M.A.C Holiday Set + FOTD

It's here! I saw the ad for this a long time ago, and have been lemming for it ever since.

The concept is way too pretty to pass. Soft quilts with a ribbon.

I chose the yellow one (there is also green and pink) because the yellow one contains the coral set of makeup, which is more suitable for my warm medium skin tone.

The name is Quite Coral.

I understand that the words are really small, but basically, this is the list of what's inside. It's one powder blush, one cremesheen lipstick, on lip glass, one technakohl liner, and one blush brush.

Now, amazing, isn't it?

It is as soft and as satin as it looks. Doesn't disappoints.

And when you open it, on the top is a compartment with elastic, and inside that compartment is a 129SE brush.

This middle sort of lid that separates the two sides is plain on this side, and has the mirror on the other side.

This is the 129SE brush. Reviews say that the SE brushes may not be the same quality as the full size ones. I don't know because I don't own 129 in full size.

I have the standard M.A.C blush brush in 128SH (short), and it is said that the SH brushes are exactly the same quality.

So if you are looking to buy this set mainly for the brush, I suggest you go down to the stores and feel the SE and the actual brush personally.

I am not so concerned about the brush because I have a lot of travel size blush brushes, so I am fine with this. It feels pretty good despite what reviews say though.

This is the mirror on the other side. It's big and nice.

And there is a tray for all the items.

This is the blush.

Very pretty coral with more glitter than normal (for holiday).

But you will see that glitter don't transfer all that much. I was originally worried that I would turn into a glitter disco ball, but my worry was undue.

Quality is very good. Pigmented, smooth, soft, and easy to blend.

Then here is the brown eye kohl pencil.

The name is Photogravure.

And that's one swipe of Photogravure. Excellent quality.

This is the lipstick.

And on top left is the swatch built up. On the top right is a single swipe of the lipstick.

The lipglass is super cute!

Again, on top left is lipglass built up, and on top right is one swipe.

This lipglass is a rather high sheen one.

Below, I placed some lipglass on the coral lipstick swatch. The lipglass appears transparent and doesn't seem to change the colour of the lipstick at all. Probably because they are both so similar.

In fact, the lipstick is also very similar to the blush that I would call the lipstick a stickier version of the blush.

So this tray that holds all those awesome products above can be slid out easily.

So you can put in more things or simply use this case for your own items, like maybe medicine case? Toiletry case? With a couple of hair ties/rubber bands, earrings, etc. Maybe a travel brush and toothpaste.

It's quite big, big enough for a Guerlain 4 Coluers palette.

And I decided to apply the lip products!

This is with only lipstick on.

I love the colour already.

And below, I put the lipglass on.

This is the overall look using everything in the Quite Coral set.

I lined the outer half of my top lashes, and the effect is really good. Have I ever mentioned that I love M.A.C eye pencils? Hehe. Especially those Pearlglides.

I am so in love with the cheek and lip colour. I'll honest and say I don't expect anything from these makeup items at all! I bought for the quilted case. =P But it turns out that the items in here are superb!

Other than all those M.A.C items above, I used the following,

- Garnier Light BB Cream
- Real Techniques brush to buff in BB Cream
- Pupa Milano Luminys Touch Face Illuminator with Light-Effect Treatment
- Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
- Make Up For Ever HD Loose Powder
- Make Up Store single shadow in Mirage
- Real Techniques shader brush for eyeshadow
- ZA Brow Pencil in Natural Grey
- Anna Sui Eyelash Curler
- Essence Multi-Action False Lashes Mascara
- Real Techniques blush brush
- Sasa No. 101 Lip Brush Sable

Below is a close up of the blush.

I am still surprised by how non-glittery this blush really is on skin. It has that obvious dewy glow, but definitely not disco ball. Gorgeous blush!

Overall, I am very happy that I took the plunge and got this one set. I already gave up all the others after reading reviews on Temptalia.com. Furthermore, the smaller quilted cases cannot be reused because the palettes in them cannot be easily taken out. I guess you could try to dig them out with a plier though, but that's not what we buy M.A.C Limited Editions for.

This is one makeup pouch that is nice on the outside, and also on the inside.
