Lost and Found: A Family Heirloom Returned

Lost jewelry stories don't always have happy endings but this one does.  Diamonds and sapphires make up a 1920's engagement ring, a family heirloom, that is back on the right finger after washing up on a Galveston beach.  Lisa Olson lost the ring on a family outing to the beach in November.  The family took a video of their baby girl which captured the moment of the ring slipping off Lisa's finger.
She had given up the ring for lost until she received a phone call from Clyde Longworth.  Clyde is a Galveston resident who often walks the beach with a metal detector.  He heard about the lost ring in a newspaper ad and decided to try to find it.  After seven hours of searching he located the ring.
Olson said that it restored her faith in humanity and proved that three times is a charm:   "The first time, I got it from my grandmother, second time was my husband, and the third time I got it back from Clyde."
